CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
PRESCHOOL
Preschool classes are an introduction to the world of dance through Ballet and Tap.
BALLET
Ballet technique is the basic building block that can be found in of all styles of dance. Classes contain a barre (warm up), center and across the floor combinations usually accompanied by Classical music. French vocabulary that is used throughout ballet class can also be found in other styles of dance to communicate exercises and choreography.
JAZZ
Jazz is an umbrella term that encompasses many styles of dance. Hip Hop, Funk, Lyrical and Broadway dance are just a few. Classes reinforce proper technique and teach students to control their bodies while using a wide range of music for warm ups, across the floor and choreography.
TAP
Tap uses primarily the feet to create rhythms that can supported by music or not. As with Ballet and Jazz classes consists of a warm up, across the floor and choreography.
ACTING
Acting students learn the basics of acting, which include listening, projecting and character development, through warm ups, improvisations, various exercises and scene work in a supportive and encouraging environment.
VOICE
Students learn the basics of singing, which include breathing, placement, articulation and simple music theory through, warm ups, exercises and songs in a relaxed and supportive environment.
